STUPID

  • beewithh
I'll race you Sweet Little Folks to the Gingerbread House!
  • farnsworth-window
candyland colors (http://forums.unfiction.com/forums/download.php?id=3705) embedded image
  • Solution
In Candyland, the goal is to reach the Ginerbread House by drawing cards with colored squares on them. When you draw a color, you move to the next square on the board which has that color. Certain board squares have additional properties: for example, if you land exactly on the green square for the Rainbow Trail or the purple square for the Mountain Pass, you can take those shortcuts. If you land on a square with a dot, you must stay on that square until you draw another card of that color.

Solved (and explained by) detayl, following these rules, as if drawing those colors in order:

I used the boardgamegeek (http://www.boardgamegeek.com/newbggimages/pic16894.jpg)'s board linked earlier in the thread.
Take each letter's row and follow its colors along the path. Make sure to adhere to the rules (sticking at the squares with the dots until you get the next color; following the shortcuts). Letters that make it to the end:

  • Smoker
fashion (http://forums.unfiction.com/forums/download.php?id=3707) embedded image
  • Solution
Following explanation from johnny_Nitro:
Complete thanks to missphinx.
I got most of it and guessed the rest from Rani needing a haircut in earlier wavs.
Several people in chat contributed, so whoever is giving credit, please adjust accordingly.

From Margaret's Market: we get Hermes, (Georgio) Armani, Issey Miyaki, Ralph (Lauren)
From smoker:We get Coco (Chanel), (Emanuel) Ungaro ,Tommy (Hilfiger)

The numbers represent which part of the designer's name to take, first name or last name

The names of the designers spell out haircut (http://ilovebees.com/outbound/haircut.wav).

EXCELLENT_EXCUSE

  • Margaret
faces (http://forums.unfiction.com/forums/download.php?id=3704)embedded text with portraits
  • na-cat
"when I play tic-tac-toe, I get my head into every move."
  • Solution
The person in each portrait is looking in a particular direction. Take the letter in the tic-tac-toe grid that corresponds to that direction (up is top center, straight ahead is middle, and so on).

Arana came up with the idea of looking at the direction the person is looking -- based on the message on NA-CAT -- and using that to indicate which tic-tac-toe square is significant, instead of concentrating on who the person is, or who painted the picture or took the photograph.
ElViento tried it, and got the phrase "Turn to face you."
danteGA posted "turn to face you" in chat, where peeveen saw it and reached the final solve.

As explained by xevo: Ok, he took the letters for "turn to face you" out of the remaining tic-tac-toe letters and saw excellent could be spelled, then excuse, tried them together, and voila
excellent_excuse (http://ilovebees.com/outbound/excellent_excuse.wav)

Confirmed by centipede: So it was where their eyes were pointing.

clam_chowder

  • BUT_FUN
this is what I look like when it's my turn: >:)
this is what I do when it's your turn: |-O
this is what I do when its GAME OVER: ^5
groupofjars.jpg
groupofjars-hidden.jpg
  • Solution
johnny_Nitro determined that these two clues went together; that "We have 2 turns to use up the letters"; and which unused letters remained.

Solved (and explained below) by Shadow:

On the scrabble board: Play C, L, and M around the A in BANS to get CLAM. Then play the remaining H, O, W, D, E, and R after the C in CLAM to get CHOWDER. Like this:
  CHOWDER
  L
 BANS
  M
All letters used, no rules broken, and the result is clam_chowder (http://ilovebees.com/outbound/clam_chowder.wav).

green_badge

  • CUTEBEE
"The Ambassador begins his day at 8AM and follows his schedule like clockwork.
He handles everything as it comes up, until the whistle blows."
  • DANADRESS
embedded image of bottle caps (http://forums.unfiction.com/forums/files/danadress_2210_153.jpg)
  • Solution
solved (and explained) by lilserf:
#bk collectively had realized that if you rotate the bottlecaps like clockwork, they'll all turn.
Sep7imus pointed out that "He handles everything as it comes up, until the whistle blows" could mean to look at each bottlecap as it turns right-side-up.

I messed around in PSP and Excel to estimate the angle until each bottlecap would be rightsideup, and got this:

Name Degrees
Storz 0
Iroquois 10
Zee-Mo 30
Southern Delight 60
Rocky 80
Good 120
Rainier 140
Edelweiss Ritz 150
Erlangen 170
Nulcy 180
Badger 230
Ambassador 240
Derby 250
Golden Punch 270
Essingers 290
Whistle 340

I saw that the first letters spelled SIZSRGREENBADGEW, which had "greenbadge" in it. strifey found that green_badge (http://www.ilovebees.com/outbound/green_badge.wav) was a good wav file, and others pointed out that the first 5 letters should have been ignored since the Ambassador was supposed to start at "8 oclock".

A good collective solve, I take credit only for the grunt work of the math :p

WRONG_OFFICE

  • DANAPICNIC
hidden MIDI file (http://www.inio.org/bees/10-22/danapicnic-hidden.mid)
  • CUTEBEE2
CUTEBEE2-hidden.jpg
  • Solution
Cortana recognized that the MIDI file in danapicnic.jpg was a composition by Dvorak.

solved (and explained) by phieferboy:
The gif file in cutebee2.jpg has sheet music in the background (connecting it to the Dvorak clue) and the characters ,prbu ruucj. (period included).
Typing ,prbu ruucj. on a standard keybord, but as if you were typing it on a DVORAK keyboard reveals "wronf office". I arbitrarily tried wrong_office (http://www.ilovebees.com/outbound/wrong_office.wav).wav since it was close.

EIGHT_MONTHS_PREGNANT

PLASMA_TORPEDO

  • CHLOE
chloe (http://www.inio.org/bees/10-22/chloe-hidden.jpg)
  • BEE_GARDEN
bee_garden (http://www.inio.org/bees/10-22/bee_garden-hidden.jpg)
  • Solution
As explained by Mazian:

The driving directions created letters. Example: From chloe.jpg, if you follow the Jersey route there are 5 points, 4 lines.
Starting in Sacramento (CA) you go east to Salt Lake City (UT), you then head north to Butte (Montana), then west to Seattle (WA), then south to San Diego (CA).
If you draw a line between all points you get the letter P.
The next in the route is L, A, S, M, A (6 routes, Yasmine's on vacation).

From bee_garden.jpg you get
(starting with Jersey and going down)
O, D, E, P, R, O, T
reverse it
TORPEDO
