August Game Updates
(Redirected from August 10)
| Table of contents |
[edit]
August 3
- Email received from ladybee777@hotmail.com (mailto:ladybee777@hotmail.com), asking us to convince Dana to get back in touch.
[edit]
August 6
- Dana's blog updated. Apparently she's in Beijing.
[edit]
August 10
- "Metastasize" countdown on the ilovebees.com main page hits 0.
- On the fun stuff (http://www.ilovebees.com/links.html) page, a list of 220 GPS coordinates appears, along with another countdown timer labeled "AXONS GO HOT."
- A new Operator's Monologue appears.
- New computer code seems to reflect a conflict between SPDR and The Pious Flea. It also reveals two Shipboard Memories.
- The text in the corrupted images has changed. Now we see haiku.
- Again, the old versions of the pages are stored.
[edit]
August 13
- Dana's blog updated, saying she feels safe from The Operator now that she's in China.
- Dana also sends an e-mail, letting us know that she has sent an e-mail to The Sleeping Princess at ladybee777@hotmail.com (mailto:ladybee777@hotmail.com).
- Another e-mail from ladybee777@hotmail.com (mailto:ladybee777@hotmail.com), letting us know that she received Dana's e-mail, and giving us another memory from Melissa.
[edit]
August 17
- The old list of 220 coordinates on links.html (http://www.ilovebees.com/links.html) is removed, and a new list of 210 coordinates takes its place.
[edit]
August 20
- Dana's blog updated with a story about a "piracy cafe".
- The site's 404 error page (http://www.ilovebees.com/404.html) contains a new message from The Sleeping Princess, giving us a game to play with her.
[edit]
August 22
- Dana emailed a group of people requesting a "50 words or less" summary of game events so far.
[edit]
August 24
- The "AXONS GO HOT" countdown on links.html (http://www.ilovebees.com/links.html) expires.
- The links page updates with a progress bar and keywords for groups of the GPS coordinate/time pairs.
- The text on the page changes again.
- The text inside the corrupted images also changes again. Properly arranged, the new words form a riddle, which leads to yellowbrickroad.html.
- Dana's weblog gets an update and adds a sidebar incorporating some of the "50 words or less" summaries that she previously solicited.
[edit]
August 27
- The 404 page was updated with a message from the Sleeping Princess, answering Paul P's question, and wanting to play again. A lot of information has been revealed in this message. The previous 404 page was archived to another linked page.
- We also got a new page of 4 axons (http://www.ilovebees.com/recipe3.html), from a hint on SP's 404 response. They're in Washington DC ("hello"), Buena Park, CA ("troy"), San Antonio, TX ("receipt") and Portland, OR ("goodbye"). There is also a unforum thread to coordinate scouting/beekeeping there. [edit]
August 28
- On honey.html (http://www.ilovebees.com/honey.html), after the lengthy repetitive "truth" spew from The Pious Flea, we get a brief new message from The Sleeping Princess, in her usual green text: "Hi! Ignore the Pious Flea. // Play with me instead! // Making a mistake is a good way to start!" (Presumably referring to her message on the 404 error page (http://www.ilovebees.com/404.html).)
- Just as a bit of trivia, I believe The Pious Flea's message repeats on that page exactly 100 times. --Extrasonic 09:04, 29 Aug 2004 (EDT)
[edit]
August 31
- about.html (http://ilovebees.com/about.html) updated with a message from the Operator.
- Dana's blog updated with a weird little story about an eavesdropping game and a story hint: "She thinks you're her crew".
- Another text-in-images-riddle today from the Sleeping Princess leads to Lookingglass.html
- We have new axons live, on the Hive-Ku Page (http://www.ilovebees.com/hivekuts.html) ... Dan Fabulich (a.k.a. DarkForge (http://forums.unfiction.com/forums/profile.php?mode=viewprofile&u=2688)) created an HTML page of the coords here (http://www.theblackforge.net/hivekuts-coords.html). I guess Melissa is liking the pay phones? These are apparently filtered from failed ones on the original link page.
