An extremely capable espionage AI with many similarities to Melissa. She is a smart AI, which means she is created based on a human brain. "That's where we come from. Cognitive Impression Modeling. They scan a human brain when someone they think is a good candidate dies."¹

Durga is the only known source of the .wav files we receive through the axons. The Operator apparently has a link to the future via Durga, according to the hives.html monologue - indicating that she is spying on Durga, spying on others and that the axon memories are occurring in real time.

Durga arrives on Jersey Morelli's computer by accident, eradicating Genie. She spies on Janissary James for Jersey, and spies on Kamal for her own purposes which are unclear. She also spies on Rani and Herzog as directed by Melissa but seems to not be aware of it. At James James funeral, Jersey offers Durga to Jan to assist in apprehending Thin Kinkle and Monster Anne.

She arranges things to suit her needs. She threatens to kill George, the IRS auditor investigating Jersey and channel tax money into Jersey's private account.

She cannot see herself properly -- she is "reflected."

She has grown a strange, almost familial attachment to Jersey. One thing Durga will not do, however, is transfer Jersey's father, Jason to a safer military assignment on Earth. Despite all of her moral and ethical "flexibility", she understands the nature of military duty and will not compromise it, even though Jersey wants nothing more than for her to bring Jason home.

Jersey concludes that she is based on Yasmine's brain².

Durga confides to Jersey that she is starting to have dreams. She has a life span of 7 years and is reaching the end of it. She has to be disconnected before she can be rampant. Jersey must somehow tell the Navy to disconnect her, but he cannot let Durga know that he is disconnecting her³.
