The ILB ARG is a promotion for Halo 2.

In the Haloverse, Halo is a ring-world developed as a weapon by the Forerunners as a means to contain the Flood. It was destroyed by the Master Chief as part of the story in the Halo game. The novel Halo: The Flood by William C. Dietz also tells more of the destruction of Halo and 343 Guilty Spark.
