Manticore

The Manticore appears briefly in The Widow's Journey story created by piecing together the snippets of text found in the Phase 1 Corrupted Images on www.ilovebees.com. The Manticore attempts to bar The Widow from entering the Inner Keep to restore The Queen, but the Widow slays it with her knife.

The Manticore is believed to be an allegory for a damaged process that SPDR eliminates in the course of trying to repair Melissa, as shown in the following bits of Phase 1 Computer Code:

The myth of the manticore is believed to be Persian in origin. A manticore is a fabulous beast with the body of a lion, the face of a human, and a tail with the sting of a scorpion and poisoned spines that it can shoot like arrows. It lives in the depths of the earth, eats human flesh, and is considered a beast of ill omen.
