The Castaway

A bit of a mystery, the Castaway seems to be a pivotal figure even though there are very few details confirmed about him. The Castaway is specifically mentioned from the solution of the Links Puzzle.¹ (This is also where we get confirmation of Melissa's real name.) He is assumed to be human because Melissa holographically talks to him. He may also be the "shipwrecked sailor" from the Phase 3 Operator's Monologue.² That may indicate he was picked up in space, possibly via a Bumblebee Lifepod (http://library.psyjnir.net/?id=151) or a cryo-stasis tube (http://library.psyjnir.net/?id=93).

In a live telephone call on October 19, Melissa confirmed that the Castaway is Jersey Morelli's father, Jason Morelli.³ Some speculate that he may also be the Old Man to whom McKaskill is sending slipstream correspondence about the artifact.⁴
