The Stupid Cop

The "stupid cop" is yet unnamed in the ILB saga. However, this policeman is apparently anything but stupid.

The Stupid Cop (TSC) was originally introduced as the policeman administering the PQI (lie-detector) test to Janissary James after she was arrested by Military Police following a daring escape attempt while trespassing on military property.

This cop is manipulative, and has gotten Jan blackmailed via her father, James James, into helping him cover up the murder of a man who tortured and killed his buddy's daughter. Since Jan can beat the lie detector test, he is using her to "prove" to any court that he was justified in any of these murders.

When Jan, Gladys and Gilly are preparing to attack Thin Kinkle, the stupid cop drives by. He gives Jan 20 minutes before he returns and warns her he does not want to find a pile of bodies when he gets back¹.
